IMPORTANT NOTE; In order to submit an abstract you do not have to register for the congress. You only need to register to the abstract submission system which is for free.

If your abstract is accepted, you will have to register for the congress.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION INFORMATION

All abstracts including free paper presentations, poster & video presentations may be submitted electronically from June 2, 2008 using online submission system accessible from the above link. Abstracts may only be submitted in electronic form in three types: 1. Oral presentation 2. Poster presentation 3. Video presentation. Abstracts submitted in email or hardcopies will not be accepted.

Authors will be able to draft the abstracts online and may return to the site to edit the texts of the abstracts if necessary. Authors are free to finalize their texts and submit their abstracts at any time before February 18, 2009. No changes can be made after this deadline.

Durations for presentations

Oral Presentations
Each presenter will be allowed 7 minutes for the actual presentation and a further 3 minutes for discussion.
Poster Presentations
Each presenter will be allowed 5 minutes for the actual presentation and a further 2 minutes for discussion.
Video Presentations
Each presenter will be allowed 7 minutes for the actual presentation and a further 3 minutes for discussion.

Abstract acceptance and program scheduling will be communicated to the corresponding author’s e-mail address. Abstracts submitted through this web site will receive immediate confirmation electronically. If you do not receive a confirmation within 24 hours it means that we did not receive your abstract.

The final decision of acceptance will be taken by the Organizing Committee once all abstracts have been assessed.

Please note the poster size:

Width: 70 cm
Height: 100 cm

All poster presentations will be exhibited for the hours 07:00 – 18:00, on the date and in the sequence number approved by the Scientific Committee. All poster presentations must be collected from the discussion area at 18:00.

AWARDS
Prizes will be awarded in four categories:

(1) Best Oral Presentation Award (top 3)
(2) Best Poster Award (top 3)
(3) Young Scientists Award

Prizes are only awarded to nominees registered for the Congress.

Submitted abstracts will be judged by the Awards Committee. The Awards Committee will select the winners based on the quality of the completed manuscript and the quality of the presentation. Prizes will be awarded to the highest scoring abstract. The winners of the competition will receive their awards as a bank cheque at the Closing Ceremony on Saturday, May 16, 2009.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Please read the Abstract Submission Guidelines before submitting your abstract.
  • Abstracts must be submitted and presented in English.
  • The abstract must not exceed 250 words. (not including author information and title)
  • The title should not be capitalized. Only first letter in Capitals.
  • An author cannot submit more than 2 abstracts as the presenting author.
  • The presenting author name should be selected as Presenter.
  • The abstract should ideally adhere to the following format with some flexibility for "commentary" type abstracts:
    • Introduction and objectives;
    • Methods;
    • Results
    • Conclusions
    • 3 keywords describing the abstract
  • Sources of financial funding for the research/project should be specified by the authors.
  • Use standart abbreviations. Place unusual abbreviations in parentheses ( ) after the full word, the first time they appear.
  • Figures or tables in abstracts will not be accepted.
  • Abstracts will not be re-typed or corrected once they are submitted. Re-submission of corrected or updated abstracts is not permitted.
  • It is the author's responsibility to submit the abstract in perfect order with no errors in spelling or grammar.
  • Abstracts not received in proper format will not be considered by the Scientific Committee.
  • Authors must disclose any potential conflict of interest for this research.
Video Presentation Submission

Abstracts for Video Presentations may be submitted electronically using online submission system. A separate DVD Disc is required for each presentation and must be sent to the adress below following your submission (not later than Friday, 13 February, 2009). Presenters are kindly requested to upload their videos to the "Speakers Room" not later than 6 hours before their session.

Please follow strictly the requirements for video presentations

  1. Submission should be in MPEG-2 Format;
  2. Submit in PAL_BG format, the visual resolving power should be 720 x 576;
  3. The submission should be 30 frames per second;
  4. The bit rate should be more than 386 kbps;
  5. Detailed contact information of the correspondent should be specified along with the DVD
